To install a memory card in your NOOK eReader:
Turn off the device.
Technically this is not required, but it is a good practice any time you are working with electrical devices.
Lay the reader face down on a well-lit, clean, level surface covered with a soft cloth to protect the screen surface.
Open the protective cover over the expansion slot:
NOOK Color: Locate the small gray protective cover near the open curved corner of the NOOK Color. Using the tip of your finger, gently pull the lip open and fold it flat against the back of the device.
NOOK Simple Touch: Locate the small gray protective cover on the left side of the NOOK Simple Touch. Using the tip of your finger, gently pull the lip open and fold it flat against the back of the device.
Insert the expansion card:
NOOK Color: Hold the memory card with the logo facing up toward you and carefully slide it into the slot.

Do not force the card into place; if you have the correct memory (a microSD or microSDHC card) it should fit easily. If it looks about twice as large as the opening, you’ve got the wrong card.

Close the lid and snap it into place.
To remove a memory card from your NOOK Color or NOOK Simple Touch, follow the first three steps for installing a card, and then push the card in and let go. A little spring will push the card out a little and you’ll be more easily able to remove it. Place the card in the protective case in which it came (or in a clean plastic bag) and put it away for future use. Close the small gray lid and snap it into place.
